Introducing our new Italian Cotton Ribbons
We’ve been admirers of Studio Carta’s incredibly elegant and understated Italian cotton ribbon for a number of years and we’re very happy to be able at last to offer it in this country. The ribbon is loosely woven, and therefore very slightly translucent. It’s soft, yet with sufficient stiffness that it can form architectural bows that will not droop. It’s pleasingly matte (I think it’s fair to say that we are generally prejudiced against shininess in ribbons, except in the case of a true heavy silk or satin) and comes in a huge range of interesting and unusual colours. We have chosen 25 of the colours we find most pleasingly rich and subtle, and each is now available wound onto an elegant wooden paddle in 10 yard lengths. Each colour was chosen because it either matches or complements several of our patterned papers, making for particularly elegant pairings when wrapping.
