Delivery

Delivery Update — July 2021

We are open and sending out orders.

Covid-19 is no longer having an impact on domestic delivery times. However, shipping to most international destinations is slower than usual, and this varies considerably depending on the destination country. We are not able to influence this, and we ask for your patience.

Delivery within the United Kingdom

We endeavour to send out all orders on the day we receive them, if they are received by noon. We are sometimes able to send orders received later in the day, but we cannot guarantee this. Despatch may also be slower at very busy times, in particular before Christmas: please bear this in mind when ordering, and leave sufficient time. You will receive an email that confirms that your parcel has been sent.

International Delivery

Orders to Europe, North America, Australia and New Zealand will be despatched within 48 hours of receipt and should be received within 5 days of being sent, though we cannot guarantee this.

We currently offer free shipping for orders over £200 to most European destinations, and to the USA.

Orders to the Rest of the World: if the parcel weighs under 2kg, it will be despatched within 48 hours of receipt and time to delivery will depend on local postal services. If the parcel weighs over 2kg, it may take a little longer than two days to organise shipping.

Please note that our automatic international shipping calculator ceases to be accurate for parcels that are an unusual size, or which weigh over 2kg: it tends to overestimate, sometimes very drastically. In these circumstances, we will find the most cost-effective shipping method for you once your parcel has been packed, and refund the difference between the true shipping cost and what you paid, and we will contact you to explain what we are doing. If the shipping charge is too much, you will be able to cancel the order at this point and get a full refund.

Tax and Duty on European Orders Post-Brexit

We no longer collect 20% sales tax (VAT) from our European customers.

Instead, your local postal service or courier will request VAT payment from you before delivery.  (The rate is set by the recipient country, typically about 20% of the order value.)

The postal service will also charge a customs clearance/handling fee (typically €5-10 depending on the country).

Duties may be applicable on orders valued above 150 Euros: these vary according to individual countries. Your postal service will inform you at the point of delivery.

We are looking for a better way of dealing with any EU import tax and duty payable, so that our customers don’t incur extra charges, but we haven’t found a solution yet. We’ll update this guidance once we have a solution.

Returns

We are sure you will be delighted with your Cambridge Imprint purchases but if for any reason you are unhappy with what you have bought, simply return it to us, unused, within 21 days and we will refund the purchase price. The address for returns is:
