Winter has arrived
Here in Cambridge we’ve woken to the first hard frost. On the way in to the Mill this morning everyone was hatted and booted and surrounded by a cloud of their own breath. The dark is closing in. Although it is still November our thoughts are turning Christmas-wards. It will soon be upon us. If you are beginning to plan and prepare, we have a few things, some tried and trusty, some brand new, that might add to the seasonal delight. We have a Merry Christmas Banner — double-sided patterned letters 8 inches tall that can be strung together — and a very charming garland of sprigs of rowan leaves and berries and tiny three-dimensional robins. Both really fun, and not at all difficult, Christmas decorating projects which once constructed can be brought out year after year. Our Christmas crackers have arrived in their gorgeous box (there’s a different pattern every year) and are selling fast. Get them while you can. Last year’s runaway success was our Crowns – six magnificent party hats for feasting in – which we had to reprint multiple times as the demand took us by surprise. They’re back, and have been joined by the Coronets — fractionally less lofty, and therefore less difficult to post, but just as full of drama. We have a wonderful wintry selection of pattern papers for wrapping, a wide selection of vivid ribbons, labels and gift tags. Our new Extra-Special Triptych cards might be just the ticket for overseas family or friends if the postage on a present has become too expensive. We’ve added Five Gold Rings and Six Geese A-Laying to our Twelve Days of Christmas card series. Or consider printing your own cards with our Christmas Printing Block Set. Finally, some suggestions for Christmas presents.
